Another week has passed and it still looks likes we have done very little in the barn.
I don't dare mention the words “Garage Sale” to mom, last time it Rained for 20 days and the time before that it rained that weekend, and it's now raining while I'm typing this up. I think I'll keep my mouth shut, for awhile, about having a “Garage Sale”

Did get a shelf built, still need more. We now have a computerized list of our 5x8, pocket books which is a mixed genre.
With crossed fingers we hope to have them listed on line by the 1st. That is as long as we don't have to make any more trips to the city, or work on the well pump between now and then.

If we don't sell any books we might be trying to dip them in cement and build a room with them. (I personally think we could build a house with them.)

We want to Thank You for stopping by, hope you had a good read and laugh.
We hope you have a good week.

Getting the barn organized is going slower then a snail pace. The only news I have is the tragic loss of some Sci-Fi hard back books due to a shelf falling, and we didn't find them on the ground until the damage was already done. I decided to tell you some more about us.

In early 1997, I (Petina) had surgery to remove some pre-cancer cells. So when I started feeling off in late part of 98, mom took me to the doctor.
Elsie May learned she was going to a grandmother. I was just relieved it wasn't cancer. On the way home, I'm making a mental list of what needs to be done before hubby gets home, and trying to figure out how I was going to tell him the news.
Mom took me home, to find hubby's truck in the drive way. My hubby told me he was laid off. There are certain days in a person's life that they never forget.
I dropped on the couch to give my mind time to process his news and while I was, he asked what we learned at the doctor.
Mom being herself couldn't remain silent any longer.
“I'm going to be a grandmother!!!”
My hubby's expression was priceless once mother's statement sunk in.
“Your pregnant?” he asked.
“I'm just relieved it's not cancer, it's not sunk in yet. How does it feel to be laid off, and learn your going to be a daddy all on the same day?”
My news made him forget all about his bad news. He was thrilled.

When I was growing up mom would tell me many times.
“If life give you lemons, make lemon aid and sell it.”
Not having electricity, is something I can live without for awhile, but water isn't and me being pregnant
“Honey, I love you and I know your trying to get a job, but I have our baby to think about. I'm going to mom's.”
We moved in with her not long after that, and our stuff was stored in The Barn.
Now were 4 and still there.(house is getting small)

Hopefully you had a good laugh at the best and worst day of my life, and it explains why it is taking some time to get the barn organized.
